Asha Iqbal Women Journalists Award 2024: Honoring Excellence Across Five States

The “Asha Iqbal Women Journalists Award” has played a significant role in the Bhilai-Raipur region of Chhattisgarh. This prestigious award was established in 2013 and has been continuously awarded since then. To date, 25 women journalists have been honored for their outstanding contributions to the field of journalism.

Asha Iqbal Women Journalists Award-2024 will honor the following journalists:

  1. Rajshree Rao Yadav (Nagpur, Maharashtra): Rajshree Rao Yadav has made a significant impact in her career on local issues and has worked towards important social changes. Her journalism has highlighted crucial social and political issues in Nagpur and surrounding areas.
  2. Semim Sultana Ahmed (Guwahati, Assam): Semim Sultana Ahmed’s reporting has extensively covered the social and cultural landscape of Assam. Her writing has brought several complex issues to light and played a crucial role in raising awareness in society.
  3. Kiran Dinesh Jain (Seoni, Madhya Pradesh): Kiran Dinesh Jain has prominently addressed issues of education, health, and social justice in rural areas of Madhya Pradesh through her reporting. Her journalism has amplified the voices of local communities.

The Women Journalists Award is presented before the musical presentation of “Yaaden Mukesh,” which has been organized by senior journalist B.D. Nizami and his dedicated team from the “Media Group (Bhilai-Durg)” and “SRG (Bhilai Steel Plant)” for the past 22 years. This event is held annually at the “Nehru Cultural House Auditorium” in Sector-1, Bhilai, in the presence of distinguished guests. This year, the Asha Iqbal Women Journalists Award ceremony will be held on August 27.

The award ceremony acknowledges the exceptional work of journalists and recognizes their achievements. This event highlights the contribution of women in journalism and underscores their important role in society.
