2084 Houses Approved for PVTG Families in Surguja District

Raipur >> Under the Prime Minister’s Janman Yojana, people from specially disadvantaged tribal groups are directly benefiting from the government’s welfare schemes. This initiative has paved the way for social and economic upliftment for PVTG (Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups) families. Through various schemes like the Prime Minister Awas Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, Nal Jal, education, electricity, agriculture, roads, and Aadhaar registration, not only are marginalized sections of society being integrated into the mainstream, but their standard of living is also improving significantly.

One of the beneficiaries of the Prime Minister Awas Yojana is Mrs. Bikhni Bai from Gram Panchayat Petla of Janpad Panchayat Sitapur in Surguja district. Recently, she, along with her family, performed rituals on the occasion of the Hareli festival and happily moved into her newly built dream home. Bikhni Bai shared that they used to live in a mud house, which would leak during the rainy season and had issues with insects. Owning such a beautiful and clean house was a mere dream for them. However, under the Prime Minister’s Janman Yojana, they received approval for a house, and now their beautiful and clean house is ready. Bikhni Bai expressed her gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the state’s Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, saying that due to their efforts, her family is excited to live in a permanent house, and their life has improved significantly.

According to the information received, 2084 houses have been approved for Pahadi Korwa families, who are part of the particularly vulnerable tribal groups, in Surguja district. Among these, 1469 beneficiaries have received the first installment, 804 the second installment, 387 the third installment, and 17 the fourth installment. Additionally, the houses for 30 families in the district have been fully constructed.

Objectives of the Prime Minister Janman Yojana

The objective of the Prime Minister Janman Yojana is to provide specially disadvantaged tribal families with knowledge of their rights and facilities and to benefit them. This scheme is playing a crucial role in improving the economic and social status of these families. The scheme emphasizes the education, health, and social security of the children of PVTG families.

Under the Prime Minister Awas Yojana, people from disadvantaged tribal groups, such as Pahadi Korwa, are being provided with permanent housing. In addition, they are receiving basic amenities such as solar power, tap connections, and toilets. Thus, this scheme is making a significant contribution to improving the living standards of the specially disadvantaged tribes.
