Awareness Programs Against Cyber Crime in Raipur Range

Awareness programs are being conducted in the Raipur Range through volunteers to educate people on cyber crime prevention. Citizens are advised not to fall for cyber frauds. Based on recent cases, the following types of cyber crimes have been observed more frequently:

A) Fake Share Trading Applications: Do not be tempted by promises of excessive returns, as these scams often lead to fraud.

B) “Digital Arrest” Scams: There is no such provision in law as a “digital arrest.” No government agency issues threats over the phone, conducts inquiries over video calls, or demands money. If you feel threatened, consider it a red flag and avoid falling for cybercriminals’ tricks.

C) Fake Google Review Earnings Scams: Cybercriminals often lure people by promising earnings through posting reviews on Google or social media, which has led many to fall victim to fraud. Be cautious of such offers.

D) Work-from-Home Fraud Schemes: Scammers offer work-from-home opportunities, such as assembling pencils or converting PDF files to Word, and later claim errors in the work, demanding fines. They may even send fake court documents and warrants, pressuring people to pay. Remember, legitimate earning opportunities are not offered without effort; do not fall for these scams.
