Deputy CM Vijay Sharma Inaugurates State’s First Road Safety Experience Room
Raipur >> Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma inaugurated Chhattisgarh’s first Road Safety Experience Room at the Transport Office in Kabirdham. He highlighted the initiative as part of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai’s efforts to raise road safety awareness. Kabirdham is the first district in the state to establish such a facility, which aims to educate citizens about road safety through engaging presentations, virtual experiences, videos, and models.
The Experience Room showcases various aspects of road safety, offering drivers insights on accident prevention, adherence to traffic rules, and safe driving practices. Deputy CM Sharma examined the facility’s features and functionality, expressing optimism about its role in promoting a culture of safety.
In his address, Sharma emphasized the importance of instilling a sense of right and wrong from an early age, likening this initiative to societal teachings that foster responsible behavior. He stressed the need for continuity in such programs to ensure every individual is aware of road safety measures.
As part of the initiative, applicants for driving licenses will now undergo a special audio-visual session designed to educate them on traffic rules and safety practices. Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate, signifying their understanding of road safety protocols. Sharma noted that this step aims to improve compliance with traffic regulations, reduce accidents, and promote informed decision-making on the roads.
The Road Safety Experience Room also brings greater transparency to departmental processes. By requiring all applicants to complete the session before receiving a driving license, the initiative ensures that every driver is equipped with the necessary knowledge to operate vehicles responsibly.
Sharma announced that this pilot initiative in Kabirdham would soon be expanded across Chhattisgarh to benefit a wider audience. Citizens visiting the Transport Office during the inauguration also explored the facility and appreciated the valuable information available.
