Difference Amount to Be Deducted from Officials’ Salaries for Incomplete Entries in Nutrition Tracker
Officials Directed to Conduct Regular Inspections of Anganwadi Centers
State-Level Review Meeting of Women and Child Development Department Held
Raipur, 8 January 2025: Women and Child Development Minister Mrs. Lakshmi Rajwade conducted a detailed review of the department’s activities at the Mahanadi Bhawan in the Secretariat. She directed strict action against officials who show any negligence in implementing government schemes. She also instructed that the difference amount for incomplete entries in the Nutrition Tracker be deducted from the salaries of the concerned officials. Mrs. Rajwade directed the officials to conduct surprise inspections of Anganwadi centers regularly. She emphasized ensuring the quality of nutrition food and other services being provided to the beneficiaries.
During the meeting, departmental officials presented information on various programs and schemes through a PowerPoint presentation. Mrs. Rajwade emphasized the need for effective implementation of Integrated Child Development Services and ensuring that women and children in the region benefit from other welfare schemes in a planned manner. She urged the officials to raise public awareness, improve the quality of services, and make effective efforts to expand services.
The Minister also instructed that all beneficiaries of schemes like the Mahatari Vandan Yojana, Prime Minister’s Maternity Benefits, Ready-to-Eat, Noni Security Scheme, Swachhta Yojana, Child Reference, and Prime Minister’s Janman Scheme should receive benefits. She directed that the bank accounts of all eligible beneficiaries of the Mahatari Vandan Yojana be linked with Aadhaar and that applications of deceased beneficiaries be canceled.
Mrs. Rajwade further instructed timely opening and closing of Anganwadis and ensuring surprise inspections by supervisors. She also emphasized the creation of nutrition gardens in all Anganwadis and planting vegetables and fruit trees. The focus was also on benefiting more women under the Jagruti Camp and Disha Darshan Yojana. The meeting reviewed the vacant positions of Anganwadi workers and helpers, approval for building new Anganwadi centers, and the progress of existing centers.
The meeting was attended by the Department Secretary Mrs. Shammi Abidi, Director Mr. Janmejay Mahobe, and other district-level officers.
