Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai addresses All India Steel Conclave 2.0
Raipur >> We are working with a steel-like willpower to build a developed Chhattisgarh. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a target of 300 million tons of steel production by 2030, and Chhattisgarh will play a key role in achieving this target. For this, every entrepreneur in the state must become the brand ambassador of Chhattisgarh’s development journey. Our government will provide every possible support to elevate the state’s steel industry to new heights. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said this while addressing the All India Steel Conclave 2.0 held at the Mayfair Lake Resort in Naya Raipur.
Chief Minister Sai said that Chhattisgarh is celebrating its silver jubilee year of establishment. We are stepping towards a developed Chhattisgarh. He mentioned that when he was a Union Minister of State, he often met with representatives from the steel industry. Chief Minister Sai remarked that 1500 delegates from 17 states would deliberate for two days on the challenges and new opportunities in the steel industry. He is confident that the discussions here will provide new directions for the growth of the steel sector, as well as for the development of Chhattisgarh and the nation. He emphasized that the All India Steel Conclave 2.0 would not only encourage the state’s steel industry but also benefit MSMEs. Industry leaders from across the country want to be a part of Chhattisgarh’s development journey. Many more doors of opportunity will soon open in Chhattisgarh, and we will soon become the largest center for energy minerals like lithium.
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai further said that there are ample opportunities for the steel industry in Chhattisgarh. The state has abundant minerals required for the steel industry, such as iron ore and coal, along with a sufficient supply of electricity. We are currently the third-largest steel producer in the country, and we are proud that our state is a powerhouse for the country’s economy. Chhattisgarh has now also taken a step towards green steel. He added that there are many innovations happening in the steel industry. The use of new and advanced technologies to increase production is commendable. While accelerating economic growth, we must also address the challenges of climate change. Sustainable environmental solutions must now be prioritized. He reiterated the government’s goal of creating 500,000 new jobs through the new industrial policy, stating that this will be achieved with the cooperation of all stakeholders. During the address, the Chief Minister also shared the government’s vision for the Single Window System 2.0 and the new industrial policy. The Single Window System 2.0 is an innovative platform that provides industries, businesses, and startups in the state with all the necessary services on a single portal.
Commerce and Industry Minister Lakhanlal Devangan mentioned that under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, the government has developed an investor-friendly industrial policy, which is attracting investment to the state. He added that Chhattisgarh is a forested region rich in mineral resources, offering immense potential for development. He highlighted that all possibilities for the state’s progress exist here. Minister Devangan also shared details of decisions taken by the government to promote the steel industry. He urged all the industrialists at the conclave to spread awareness about the state’s industrial policy, so that more people benefit from it and become partners in the state’s progress.
Member of Parliament Brijmohan Agrawal stated that Chhattisgarh is becoming the fastest-growing state in the country. The state already has favorable conditions for the steel industry. Many industries are already established here, and now it is our responsibility to ensure that development occurs while taking care of the environment. He stressed that CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) should be used to improve people’s lives as well.
On this occasion, All India Steel Conclave 2.0 Chairman Ramesh Agarwal, Chhattisgarh Steel Re-Rollers Association President Sanjay Tripathi, Bhilai Steel Plant CEO Ajay Kumar Chakraborty, along with CSR Association officials and industrialists associated with the steel industry, were present.
