Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw Interacts with Journalists

Raipur>>Today, Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw participated in the ‘Meet the Press’ program organized by the Raipur Press Club. He responded candidly to questions and also played a round of carrom with the journalists at the Press Club, located in Moti Bagh, Raipur. During the event, Saw spoke about his journey from student life to becoming the Deputy Chief Minister and the Minister for four key departments in the state government. He also shared insights into his work and provided information about the preparations for the upcoming urban body and panchayat elections in the state.

Arun Saw, along with the office-bearers of the Press Club, took a tour of the entire complex. The President of Raipur Press Club, Prafull Thakur, Vice President Sandeep Shukla, General Secretary Vaibhav Shiv Pandey, Treasurer Raman Halwai, Secretary Ms. Tripti Soni, and a large number of journalists from various media institutions were present at the event.

During his address at the ‘Meet the Press’ program, Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw stated that the first year of the Chhattisgarh government had been full of achievements. He highlighted that the government had fulfilled many major promises made under the ‘Modi Ki Guarantee.’ He said that the government had successfully purchased 21 quintals of paddy per acre from farmers at ₹3100, along with fulfilling its promise of paying pending bonuses from the previous two years. Through the Mahatari Vandan Yojana, ₹1000 per month is being given to 70 lakh women, with 11 installments already paid. He also emphasized that the government is purchasing tendu leaves at ₹5500 per standard bag, as per its commitment. Furthermore, the government has initiated a CBI investigation into the PSC recruitment scam.

Saw mentioned that the government had implemented a new industrial policy in the state to increase investment. He also highlighted that tourism had been given industry status, which would accelerate infrastructure development and generate employment opportunities. He also addressed the issue of Naxalism, noting that the state government had been successful in this area. Over 200 Naxalites had been killed in the past year, and there had been numerous arrests and surrenders. Through the Nyad Nella Nara scheme, the government is bringing development to the remote villages of Bastar. He concluded his speech by stating that by 2047, Chhattisgarh would be a developed state in a developed India.

Saw also highlighted the efforts made by the government in various sectors. He pointed out that the state had made significant progress in enhancing its education system, infrastructure, and healthcare. These developments were part of the broader vision to improve the quality of life for the people of Chhattisgarh, especially in rural and underdeveloped areas.

Additionally, Saw emphasized that the government’s focus was on ensuring that all segments of the population benefit from these policies, including the poor, women, and farmers. He said that special attention was being paid to ensure that marginalized communities, including tribals and Dalits, had access to necessary resources, opportunities, and social security programs. He also stated that the government’s programs were being implemented with transparency and efficiency to prevent corruption and ensure that the benefits reached those in need.

On the political front, Saw discussed the preparation for the upcoming local body elections, saying that the government was working on ensuring smooth and fair elections. He mentioned that the government was committed to upholding democratic values and ensuring the active participation of citizens in local governance. He urged the press and the public to play an active role in strengthening democracy by staying informed and participating in the electoral process.

When asked about the government’s approach to tackling unemployment, Saw noted that the government was committed to providing employment opportunities through various initiatives, including the industrial policy, skill development programs, and infrastructure projects. He pointed out that the creation of job opportunities was closely tied to the government’s broader development agenda, which included building a strong industrial base, enhancing tourism, and expanding infrastructure in all sectors.

The Deputy Chief Minister also spoke about the achievements of the state government in various sectors. He said that education and healthcare had seen significant improvements, and efforts were being made to bridge the gap between urban and rural areas in terms of access to basic services. In particular, he highlighted the government’s focus on improving the rural economy by supporting small businesses and promoting agricultural growth through initiatives like the paddy procurement scheme.
