CM Sai Attends Khadia Community’s Annual Social Conference

Raipur, February 14, 2025 – Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai addressed the annual conference of the Khadia Scheduled Tribe Upliftment Committee, emphasizing that education is the strongest foundation for any community’s progress. He urged intellectuals and youth to prioritize education and guide the next generation on the right path.

CM Sai highlighted that true progress for tribal communities comes from a balanced focus on education, economic empowerment, and social unity. He reiterated the state government’s commitment to uplifting all sections of society, envisioning new heights of development in the coming years. Recalling the historic decision of 2011 that granted Scheduled Tribe status to the Khadia community, he praised former CM Dr. Raman Singh for his efforts.

The event commenced with tributes to Goddess Saraswati and freedom fighter Shaheed Telanga Khadia. Present at the occasion were MLA and Vice President of the Sarguja Region Development Authority, Gomati Sai, former MLA Bharat Sai, and other prominent community leaders.

13 Months of Transformational Development

CM Sai stated that in just 13 months, the state government has successfully implemented Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guarantees. The first cabinet meeting approved benefits under the PM Awas Yojana for 1.8 million families.

He emphasized the government’s commitment to farmers, highlighting the procurement rate of ₹3,100 per quintal for paddy, allowing farmers to sell 21 quintals per acre over the last two Kharif seasons. The state has set a new record by procuring over 14.9 million metric tons of paddy this year.

Concrete Steps for Tribal Upliftment

Discussing welfare measures for tribal communities, CM Sai announced an increase in tendu leaf collection rates from ₹4,000 to ₹5,500 per standard sack, benefiting millions of collectors.

Additionally, 7 million women are receiving ₹1,000 monthly under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana to enhance their financial stability. The Deendayal Upadhyay Landless Agricultural Labor Welfare Scheme provides ₹10,000 annually to landless farmworkers, directly supporting the most vulnerable sections.

For tribal education and development, the government has launched the PM Janman Yojana and Dharti Aaba Tribal Village Utkarsh Campaign. The number of seats at the Tribal Youth Hostel in Dwarka, Delhi, for UPSC aspirants has been increased from 50 to 185. Furthermore, 341 schools in the state are being integrated into the PM Shri Yojana to provide high-quality education on par with private institutions.

Tribal Communities Must Unite for Progress: MLA Gomati Sai

MLA Gomati Sai stressed that communities focusing on education, economic growth, and unity achieve the greatest success. She urged the tribal society to stay united for holistic development. The attendees collectively pledged to work towards education, employment, and social progress for the tribal community.

The event was attended by Khadia Community President Madan Nayak, District Patron Bodh Sai Manjhi, District General Secretary Kripal Manjhi, District Vice President Ram Sagar Soreng, Bal Kumar Pradhan, and other distinguished community members.
