BJP’s Historic Victory in Urban Bodies Due to Positive Voting – Deputy CM Arun Sao
Raipur >>Chhattisgarh’s Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao hailed the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) landslide victory in urban body elections as a result of positive voting. He stated that the party reached out to the people based on its development work, which led to the public’s overwhelming trust in the BJP. Sao criticized the Congress for attributing the BJP’s win to EVMs, calling it an insult to the people’s mandate.
Addressing a press conference at the BJP office in Raipur, Sao highlighted the party’s dominance in the elections, securing victories in all 10 municipal corporations, 35 out of 49 municipalities, and 81 out of 114 municipal councils. He credited Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai’s leadership for fulfilling promises under Modi’s Guarantee, including rapid urban development, financial aid to farmers, and women’s welfare schemes.
Sao emphasized that BJP’s vote share has steadily increased, from 46% in assembly elections to over 55% in urban body polls. He expressed confidence in a strong BJP performance in upcoming three-tier panchayat elections, citing growing support in rural areas.
He also highlighted the resumption of stalled development projects like PM Awas Yojana, financial aid to tendu leaf collectors, and Mahatari Vandan Yojana as key factors behind the BJP’s increasing popularity.
