MP from Raipur, Brijmohan Agrawal, actively participated in the meeting and held extensive discussions with ministry officials. He focused on the government’s policies and schemes in the fertilizer, chemical, petrochemical, and pharmaceutical sectors, providing key suggestions for their improvement.

Key Points for Farmers and Industries

  1. Ensuring Timely and Affordable Fertilizers for Farmers
MP Brijmohan Agrawal urged the government to ensure that farmers across the country, including Chhattisgarh, receive fertilizers on time and at affordable rates. This, he said, would help reduce production costs and strengthen the agricultural sector.
  2. Self-Reliance in the Chemical and Pharma Sector
He emphasized strengthening the domestic chemical industry and increasing self-reliance in the pharmaceutical sector. He also advocated for special incentives for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to boost their participation in these industries.
  3. Plastic Park in Sarora Industrial Area
Discussions were held on the progress of the plastic park under construction in Raipur’s Sarora Industrial Area. This park aims to promote the growth of the plastic and organic fertilizer industries in India.
  4. Promotion of Nano DAP and Nano Urea
MP Agrawal called for greater promotion of Nano DAP and Nano Urea, which would provide farmers with more cost-effective and efficient fertilizers.
The meeting stressed launching awareness campaigns through agricultural science centers and universities nationwide to maximize the use of Nano Urea and Nano DAP. He highlighted that the government provides a subsidy of ₹1.94 lakh crore, and increased use of Nano fertilizers could reduce the subsidy expenditure by up to ₹2 lakh crore, strengthening the country’s economy.
  5. Encouraging Organic Fertilizers and Bio-Pesticides
The committee emphasized the promotion of organic fertilizers and bio-pesticides to support environmentally friendly agriculture. This initiative aims to help farmers benefit from natural resources while enhancing soil fertility.
