Raipur, 8 January 2025 – A review meeting of the Home Department was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma at the Mahanadi Bhawan, Secretariat. The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary Shri Manoj Pingua, Director General of Police Shri Ashok Juneja, Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Rahul Bhagat, and other senior officials. During this marathon meeting, Deputy CM Shri Sharma discussed various functions of the police department and provided necessary directions.

Shri Sharma instructed officers to strictly follow the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) issued under the NDPS Act. He emphasized taking stringent action against individuals involved in the illegal drug trade and initiating the immediate seizure of their assets. He clarified that any police officer or staff involved in such illegal activities should be dismissed and face severe punishment.

The Deputy CM also directed the immediate implementation of a new transfer policy for police personnel and officers, ensuring transparency and fairness in the process to improve departmental efficiency. Additionally, he instructed the swift resolution of pending compassionate appointment cases for martyrs’ families, giving them priority.

In the meeting, the progress of the Dial 112 service, the state-level cyber police station, and measures to control cybercrime were reviewed. Also discussed were proposals for police station reorganization and the establishment of new stations, along with strategies for improving traffic management and reducing road accidents.
