Governor Ramen Deka’s Efforts to Support Farmers and Promote Water Conservation in Chhattisgarh
A meeting with administrative officers was held at the Collectorate Auditorium in Rajnandgaon, chaired by Governor Ramen Deka. The Governor discussed the implementation of government schemes in the district, ongoing initiatives, and campaigns. He emphasized the need for increasing rainwater harvesting to promote water conservation, urging citizens to avoid water wastage. Deka appreciated the Mission Water Protection campaign being conducted in the district.
The Governor further stressed the need to support farmers by promoting organic farming, highlighting its immense potential for their development. He advised agricultural officers to keep engaging with farmers, encouraging them to adopt organic farming practices and providing them with the latest technological updates. Sharing insights on Israel’s greenhouse technology, he suggested promoting horticultural crops through greenhouse farming in the district.
Deka also discussed the “Nikhil Niramay Chhattisgarh” initiative, which aims to make the district TB-free, and stressed the importance of community involvement in achieving this goal. He praised the “Poth Lika” campaign for addressing severe malnutrition in children and acknowledged the efforts to improve Anganwadi buildings and the “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” initiative.
The Governor emphasized the harmful effects of narcotics on youth and the importance of preventing drug trafficking from other states. He also appreciated the Trinetra Scheme aimed at preventing criminal activities with the help of CCTV cameras.
Various department officials participated in the meeting, including IG Deepak Jha, Joint Secretary to the Governor Smt. Heena Animesh Netam, and other district officials.
