The Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs, Tokhan Sahu, today participated in the “Kalpana – Building a Better India” program organized by the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in Raipur. The event featured discussions with students from NIT Raipur, IIT Bhilai, and IIM Raipur.

The program was graced by the esteemed presence of the Vice President of India, Jagdeep Dhankhar, as the chief guest. Other dignitaries included the Governor of Chhattisgarh, Raman Deka the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Vishnu Dev Sai; Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs, Tokhan Sahu; Deputy Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Vijay Sharma, and several other notable guests.

Another highlight of the event was the online foundation stone laying ceremony of the SECL Girls’ Hostel, which is being funded under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL). This hostel will provide state-of-the-art accommodation for female students, promoting higher education and women empowerment in the region.

Earlier in the day, Tokhan Sahu had a courtesy meeting with the Governor of Chhattisgarh, Raman Deoka, where both leaders discussed matters of mutual interest and reaffirmed their commitment to the progress and development of the state. The conversation also focused on collaborative efforts to promote infrastructure, education, and rural development in Chhattisgarh.

Sahu also visited Indira Gandhi Agricultural University in Raipur, where he appreciated the institute’s efforts in agricultural research and education and encouraged them to continue their invaluable work in the agricultural sector. During the visit, he also interacted with female trainees from Odisha, praising their dedication to enhancing their skills in agriculture.
