Raipur >>Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai hoisted the National Flag at PG College Ground in Ambikapur, the headquarters of Surguja division, on the occasion of the 76th Republic Day. He took the salute of the joint parade and addressed the public, extending Republic Day greetings to the people of the state.
In his address, the Chief Minister expressed pride in celebrating the nation’s Republic Day, honoring the sacrifices of freedom fighters and the contributions of Constitution makers. He remembered their relentless efforts in building a democratic India and emphasized the importance of upholding constitutional values.
Fighting Naxalism and Fostering Development
The Chief Minister highlighted the state’s achievements in combating Naxalism under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. He shared how security forces have effectively eradicated Naxal strongholds, bringing light and development to the Bastar region. Over 260 Naxal cadres were neutralized within a year, leading to significant progress in previously terror-stricken areas.
Empowering Farmers and Promoting Agricultural Prosperity
Sai elaborated on initiatives like direct transfers of ₹49,000 crores to farmers’ accounts, provision of ₹3,100 per quintal for paddy, and the launch of welfare schemes for landless agricultural laborers. These measures have improved agricultural incomes, reduced migration, and encouraged investments in farming.
Boosting Industries and Investment
The Chief Minister outlined plans to attract investments worth ₹2.5 lakh crores and create 5 lakh new jobs through the new industrial policy. Focus areas include green enterprises, IT hubs in Nava Raipur, and lithium mining for electric vehicle batteries.
Promoting Tourism and Connectivity
He emphasized initiatives to develop Chhattisgarh’s tourism potential, citing examples like Chitrakote Falls, Kanger Valley Caves, and Guru Ghasidas Tiger Reserve. Improved air connectivity with operational airports in Ambikapur and Jagdalpur was also noted.
Women Empowerment
Sai highlighted the “Mahatari Vandan Yojana,” providing monthly financial support to women. This initiative has empowered women to fulfill their aspirations and contribute to household stability.
The Chief Minister concluded by reaffirming his government’s commitment to creating a strong, prosperous, and inclusive Chhattisgarh, aligning with the vision of a progressive India.
