Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, the redevelopment of 15 stations in the Raipur Division of South East Central Railway is progressing swiftly under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Mr. Dayanand Kumar. These stations are being equipped with modern facilities to make them more comfortable, safe, and high-standard for passengers. Indian Railways is making special efforts under this scheme to further enhance passenger amenities in the division, prioritizing passenger safety, security, and convenience.

The 15 stations undergoing rapid redevelopment under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme include:

  1. Bhatapara
  2. Bhilai Power House
  3. Tilda-Neora
  4. Belha
  5. Bhilai
  6. Balod
  7. Dalli Rajhara
  8. Bhanupratappur
  9. Hathbandh
  10. Sarona
  11. Maroda
  12. Mandir Hasaud
  13. Urkura
  14. Nipania
  15. Bhilai Nagar

The work at Bhilai station has been completed first among the Amrit Bharat Station schemes.

Efforts are being made to ensure the highest standards of aesthetics, cleanliness, and passenger services at these stations. They are being redeveloped with environmentally friendly technology and design, enhancing their sustainability and decor. The redevelopment work is being carried out with a long-term development goal in mind, aiming to improve the travel experience for passengers along with the growth of rail services.

The following works are being undertaken at these stations for passenger convenience:

  1. Grand Entrance: A grand entrance is being constructed for easy station entry and exit for passengers, making the station more attractive.
  2. Wide Foot Over Bridge: This bridge is being developed as an air concourse to facilitate easier access to platforms for passengers.
  3. Lifts: Lift facilities are being provided for passengers, especially benefiting the elderly and differently-abled individuals.
  4. Platform Cover Sheds:Cover sheds are being installed on platforms to protect passengers from rain and sunlight.
  5. Coach Guidance Display System: A coach guidance display system is being installed to provide passengers with accurate information about their train and coach positions.
  6. Display Boards and Guidance Signage: Modern signage boards, similar to those in malls, are being installed at stations to provide directions and information, enabling passengers to easily access available facilities.
  7. Special Facilities for Differently-Abled Individuals: Stations are being equipped with special facilities for differently-abled passengers, including ramps, marked parking, and low-height ticket booking counters for better assistance. Additionally, separate toilets, low-height drinking water booths, and wheelchair arrangements are being made on platforms. Furthermore, coach guidance systems, signage, and standard tactile guides are being provided on platforms to assist differently-abled individuals in reaching trains and obtaining necessary information.
  8. Additional Developments: Other works include local art and culture paintings, garden construction for beautification, development and expansion of passenger amenities, renovation of waiting rooms, improvement of circulating areas by widening roads for easy access, development of organized parking areas, ensuring better lighting arrangements, designer signage, and creating easy access routes to stations.
  9. Railway’s Commitment to Passenger Safety and Convenience: Indian Railways always prioritizes the safety and convenience of its passengers. Under these redevelopment projects, stations are not only being physically strengthened but also equipped with state-of-the-art security measures such as CCTV cameras and quick availability of emergency services. The successful implementation of these schemes will significantly contribute to making passengers’ journeys safer, more comfortable, and convenient.

The works being carried out by the Chief Project Manager, Gati Shakti Unit in the division are not only strengthening the railway infrastructure but also contributing to regional development and economic growth. Stations built under the Amrit Bharat Scheme enhance the railway infrastructure and reflect the comprehensive grandeur of the stations. These stations will also be capable of providing a world-class experience to passengers.
