Raipur >> In a historic move to ensure transparency, accountability, and effective governance, the Chhattisgarh Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Center for Effective Governance of Indian States (CEGIS) and Transforming Rural India (TRI). This partnership aims to enhance administrative efficiency, strengthen the monitoring and implementation of government schemes, and improve governance structures.
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai emphasized, “Ensuring the proper and effective use of resources is our priority. To this end, we established the ‘Good Governance and Convergence Department’ in the state. This 58th department will not only simplify administrative processes but also help in the effective implementation of government schemes.” He added that this MoU would bring revolutionary changes in administrative transparency, financial discipline, and policy-making.
Promotion of E-Governance and Digital Transformation
Sai further explained that the initiative would enhance e-governance, digital transformation, grievance redressal systems, and real-time monitoring of government schemes. The MoU will promote skill development and capacity building for government employees and youth, making governance more effective and accessible. The Chief Minister assured that with this initiative, corruption would be tightly controlled and the public would have seamless access to government benefits.
New Direction for Policy Making with CEGIS and TRI’s Support
Mr. Kartik Murli Dharan, founder of CEGIS, expressed, “We will provide technical, analytical, and strategic support to the Chhattisgarh government for the effective implementation of state policies and schemes. Our collaboration will also assist in strategic budgeting and financial management, benefiting Chhattisgarh with global expertise and data-driven policy-making.
*TRI’s Contribution to Rural Development
Under the MoU with TRI, the focus will be on sustainable rural development, especially in education, health, women’s empowerment, and water conservation. Mr. Sh Kalyani, Associate Director of TRI, mentioned, “We will work alongside the Chhattisgarh government to empower local governance, enhance community participation, and accelerate rural development. This initiative is a critical step in improving sectors like education, health, agriculture-based livelihoods, and climate adaptation.
Chief Minister Sai congratulated the representatives of the Good Governance and Convergence Department, CEGIS, and TRI on this important agreement. He said, This partnership will pave the way for administrative reforms in Chhattisgarh, ensuring that the public receives quick and effective benefits from government schemes.
Finance Minister O. P. Chaudhary remarked that this MoU would play a pivotal role in realizing the vision of good governance in Chhattisgarh.
