Chhatkunwar was born into a poor family where there was a severe lack of access to education and modern amenities. He explained to Chhatkunwar that if she continued her studies, she would have the opportunity to secure a government job.
This inspiration filled Chhatkunwar’s life with new enthusiasm. She began to work hard to fulfill her dreams, eventually earning a postgraduate degree and a diploma in computers. Her perseverance and struggle bore fruit, and today she is fulfilling her duties as a teacher.
Appointment as an Assistant Teacher
Chhatkunwar’s hard work and dedication to education led to her appointment as an assistant teacher. Under the directions of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, the Korba district administration appointed her as an assistant teacher at the Government Secondary School in Nonbirra, Kartala Block. This appointment not only brought stability to her life but also served as an inspiration for others in the Pahadi Korwa community.
Recognizing the Importance of Education
According to Chhatkunwar, very few people in her community pay attention to education. Most people in the community are still far from education and are trapped in a cycle of poverty and backwardness. Chhatkunwar hopes that her people will also recognize the importance of education and encourage their children to study. She believes that education is the only means by which her community can rise out of poverty and join the mainstream.
Chhatkunwar’s appointment has raised awareness about education in her community.
