Raipur Municipal Corporation to Revamp Mahalakshmi Market under Pilot Project with 15th Finance Commission Funds
Raipur>> The Raipur Municipal Corporation will soon begin the process of organizing and developing Mahalakshmi Market in Pandri as a pilot project, in coordination with the Raipur Development Authority, using funds from the 15th Finance Commission. This initiative is aimed at improving public facilities and expanding convenience for the people.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, Deputy Chief Minister for Urban Administration and Development Shri Arun Saw, and Raipur North MLA Shri Purandar Mishra, efforts are being made to rapidly develop and beautify the city of Raipur. Following the directions of the Chhattisgarh government’s Urban Administration and Development Department and the Raipur district administration, the Municipal Corporation is carrying out several works to enhance public welfare in the capital city.
In line with this, the Mahalakshmi Market in Pandri will soon be organized as a pilot project, based on the request of the traders. The project will be implemented in collaboration with the Raipur Development Authority.
To expedite the plan, Raipur District Collector Dr. Gaurav Kumar Singh, along with Municipal Commissioner Shri Abhinash Mishra, instructed officials to carry out the site inspection. The inspection included the presence of Zone 3 Commissioner Shri Vivekanand Dubey, Executive Engineers Shri Sushil Modestus and Shri Anshul Sharma (Senior and Junior), as well as the President of the Raipur Wholesale Cloth Merchant Association, Shri Saral Modi, and Zone 3 President Dr. Pramod Sahu.
The officials confirmed that the Raipur Municipal Corporation, in collaboration with the Raipur Development Authority, will transform Mahalakshmi Market into a well-organized and attractive location as part of this pilot project. This includes the construction and development of multi-level parking and designated areas.
Plans are also underway to develop the market as a non-vehicle market, which will minimize the presence of vehicles and reduce pollution effectively. The market will encourage the use of electric vehicles. To ensure a healthy environment for traders and citizens, the construction of urinals and toilets is also being planned.
The Municipal Corporation of Raipur, in coordination with the Raipur Development Authority, will work to develop Mahalakshmi Market into a beautiful, organized area, improving public facilities for the benefit of all.
